I shared Fluther with my friend Michelle, rockstargrrrlie. I thought she might like it because she enjoyed The Question Club on livejournal. She was frequently showing me posts from The Question Club in the tone of, “Can you believe this person’s answer?!”
I told her about Fluther, and at first, she was pretty much just like “oh, cool,” but didn’t make an account or anything. Then, periodically, when there would be an interesting thread here, I would link her.
At some point, probably a few months after I had initially mentioned Fluther to her, she said that she had made an account and was liking it. Soon after, I heard from her, “I have 100 points on Fluther!”

About which people you should share Fluther with:
– people who are likely to be good at answering questions
– curious people
– people who like knowledge (both giving and receiving)
– people with desk jobs
– people who like message boards
About how to share it:
– never be too overzealous (OMG, THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER, YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO SIGN UP THIS SECOND AND USE IT FOR HOURS EVERYDAY FOREVER!)
– mention it, but don’t push it
– follow up only when there is something of interest, i.e., “Hey, remember that website I told you about? I’m reading this one thread where…” rather than, “Hey, have you made your Fluther account yet???”
– link particularly entertaining threads or threads that would be relevant to the person
