I have all 9 seasons of the X-Files on DVD and I’ve already watched the whole series – twice. I think it was an excellent television series and a lot of fun. I guess that makes me an X-Phile. :o)
I wasn’t too impressed with both of the X-Files movies but they weren’t the worst things I’ve seen on the Silver Screen either.
Duchovny threatened to leave the show in an effort to make more money. The writers of the show tried to replace him, and found out that the chemistry between Mulder & Scully was the best part of the show. This is not any kind of a wonderful plot surprise; it’s actually the point at which you should stop watching, because it’s when the show goes off the rails.
Totally agree with cwilbur. Also the stand-alone episodes—the ones that don’t follow story arches—tend to be better and often humorous. Here are some of my favorites: Humbug;Soft Light: D.P.O.; Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose; Syzygy; Jose Chung’s ‘From Outer Space’; Small Potatoes; Unusual Suspects, Killswitch, Triangle, The Post-Modern Prometheus
I’m a huge x files fan, and it was where I discovered the wonder that is Mitch Pileggi. I still have all 9 series. @Noel S Leitmotiv I love Fringe too.
