How can Youtube have video of everything?

It seems as if it’s been on tape or video, it can be found on Youtube. How do they store and sort so much information? Surely it’s a huge amount of data?

Two years ago, YouTube only used 45 terrabytes of storage. Storage isn’t really an issue; even an ordinary person can buy as many terrabytes of storage as they can handle.

But there are multiple numbers of big servers they use. Plus, the videos are encoded as Flash files upon upload. That type of file is smaller than other types. And YouTube does not have every video; Viacom, Warner Bros., and other media corporations will order YouTube to take videos off left and right if they feel their copyright is being violated.
