Technically speaking it’s the devices that need to be compatible-RCA cables are the same regardless of what color they are; if the device you’re coming from (the “source”) is outputting a component video signal, the three color spaces (Red, Green, Blue) are split across the cables, and if the TV only accepts a “Yellow” signal on it’s input (“Composite” video signal which combines the three colors on one cable) then you won’t be able to connect the devices to pass video.
