When I lay on my right side on the couch, I suddenly find that my ribcage is sticking out. Is this normal?

Doesn’t sound serious to me. I don’t even think I have a ribcage anymore.
Does it hurt? Did this just start happening? If either of these is affirmative, I’d have it looked at by a doc.

@augustlan Its been happening for a little while. And it only hurts if I keep lying in the position where it sticks out.

Yea, fortris mine is the same way, welcome to the freakish body club :). But like you said it doesnt really hurt unless doing it for a while.
Does it only happen to you when your laying down, or can you bend backwards and to the side a little and make it stick out standing up?
It doesn’t stick out if I stand up.
