I laugh in my sleep a lot. My mother told me about it when I spent a whole summer sleeping on the couch in the living room instead of in my bedroom because it was too hot upstairs.
I also talk in my sleep. A lot of the time as I’m waking up I hear myself spouting random word salad. But for a while I recorded myself at night to see if I said anything interesting. Here are a couple of my favorites, because I woke up and had NO IDEA what was happening in my dreams or whatever:
- “Hm. Mrf. Mmm… Sloooooowly. [chuckle] I have plenty… [several seconds of silence] Are you sure that it’s broken? [slight pause, short laugh, another pause, another chuckle] It’ll be, like, 10:30 tonight and we’ll all look at the clock and be like, ‘Where’s Megan?’ [laugh!]”
- “Mmm. Yeah, I’ve seen. I don’t… Um. Like, when you see a deer hit… [pause] Mm.”
- “You put the wrong end in your mouth, didn’t you? [laugh!]”
