No, because I click on Dr J to go back to the main Fluther page. This is a solid convention in web design – the logo leads to the main page. Breaking conventions is how you start designing artistic or crappy websites. Keeping with conventions that web users are familiar with (such as the navigation menu being on the left or top of the page) makes it easier for new users to use the website, and Fluther has a desire to make the site easy to use for newbies, since the addiction starts with the user posting their first comment :)
While a “top of page” link may be nice, you can simply hold your Page Up button for a few seconds and you’ll be right at the top. Amazingly enough, this method contains a second bonus function: hold the Page Down button for a few seconds and you’ll be right at the bottom of the page! There we go, something that would have taken two links to implement actually already exists :)
There are also the Home and End buttons that do the same, but with only one press.
One last point – there could be a “Top of Page”/“Bottom of Page” link put in to the iPhone version of the site, since they have no Page Up buttons, and I can’t imagine having to scroll through that poop thread with my finger.
