like a panini press? wow, a sandwich maker. they really make those? can’t we just hook up a sandwich like this without a sandwich maker? here ya go!

slice a croissant in half.
grill a strip steak to medium rare and slice into strips
place fresh mozzarella medallion on croissant with fresh tomato, oregano, olive oil and fresh basil.
heap on a few julienned steak slices.

steak croissant sandwich with basil and tomato. aromatic and flavorful. want more?

Is a “sandwich maker” pretty much the same thing as a George Forman Grill, which is what I used for sandwiches?

Works like a dream.

Grilled cheese, thin slices of tomato, maybe a little salt. enough.

A sandwich maker, huh? So, is it an official panini grill, a George Foreman, or one of those SnackMasters that were the college dorm staples of the early 90’s?

At any rate, my favorite has always been tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil with a tiny bit of balsamic vinaigrette – on a rustic Italian bread.

Second, is pastrami, cheese, and Russian dressing on rye.

The web is jam-packed with a million different sites now, for ‘panini’ recipes. These, these and these are just the beginning.

Tuna, pepperjack cheese, thinly sliced and sauteed onions and bell peppers, salt & pepper. Mouth sex will follow, but it’s not part of the recipe.

My favorite is a chicken cutlet (breaded or grilled) with roasted red peppers, mozzarella, and balsamic vinegar.

Good ham, Genoa Salami, or Roasted Turkey (alone or in any combination), with good Swiss cheese, crisp lettuce and onions on any good bread, with horseradish mustard and mayo.

This is one of those little sandwich makers that were popular in the 90’s its not a panini press.

the best day after Thanksgiving sandwich: dark wheat bread, left over turkey, left over dressing, left over jellied cranberries and mayo.

@imhellokitty A great idea I got from “Friends” years ago – make the sandwich just like you listed, but add another slice of bread in the middle that’s been soaked in gravy. It keeps it all moist & yummy.

We use our panini grill to make sandwiches too – my fave is roast beef & cheddar with horseradish spread & spicy mustard. If you let it stay in there until the cheese starts melting down the sides, it’s delish! :)

I make a good spaghetti sauce – then save some in the fridge for the next days’ sandwiches.

Your fave bread
sauce
fave cheese
slices of tomatoes/onions/shrooms
whatever veggies/spices you like
grill it/sandwich maker it.

voila

Ham and Cheese Omelet

3 eggs, beaten
salt and pepper to taste
ham, chopped (about 3 tablespoons)
shredded cheddar cheese, about ¼ cup
margarine

Place a small amount of margarine in each of the sandwich maker wells. Preheat about 5 minutes. Pour half of the eggs evenly into the hot, buttered wells of the machine, top with the ham and cheese, pour remaining eggs on top. Close machine, cook for about 2 minutes or until done. Top with more cheese if desired.

Pancakes

pancake batter, prepared
syrup
powdered sugar (optional)
margarine

Place a small amount of margarine in each of the sandwich maker wells. Preheat about 5 minutes. Fill the wells with pancake batter. Grill until brown, about 3 to 5 minutes. Serve hot with powdered sugar and syrup.
