I put one of my oil paintings in the oven overnight with the light on only (helps the paint cure faster)
Unfortunatley I forgot to put a note on the door as I usually do. This morning my teen cranked the oven up to 375 and an odd nasty odor wafted through the house.
Suddenly I realized what it had to be and raced downstairs and- with oven mitt – removed the cooking painting.
It is now fine- except it appears to be aged- it has a slightly antiqued sepia look about it.
Can’t sell it as I have no idea what the long-term effects on the paint will be.
