I am here with a 1 year old and a 3 year old but they are eating right now and I need help. The 3 year old keeps cussing and the 1 year old is as sweet as can be. How do I entertain them?

Give the three year old some crayons and paper, or put a funny cartoon/movie on. Give the one year old stuffed animals and talk to him/her through them, have them “talk” to each other and to the baby, use them to tickle his/her belly, etc. The three year old might want to join in on that eventually as well :P

thank you so much they`re my little half sisters and I have ran out of ideas so I put the 1 year old down for her nap and the 3 year old is watching Monsters Inc.®

You should probably get off the computer first…

@toomuchcoffee911 She said they were eating, I’m sure she was at least in the same room with them :P

@Ashpea9288 youre right i would never leave them in a room alone and just let them roam while i search the internet

@Ashpea9288: no need to get so defensive. I was merely advising her that she should get off the internet because not being with the kids is kind of the opposite of entertaining them. :-P

@LouisianaGirl Nothing against you.

Erm, I wasn’t being defensive at all! Hence the little ”:P” at the end of my sentence. I was merely pointing out that she said they were eating, and thus didn’t require any additional entertainment at the time she was writing the question. Plus, I seriously doubt she would be trusted to watch children that young alone if she didn’t know to stay in the same room with them at all times.

Yea and I am the only person they like and obey.

@Ashpea9288 Ok, ok, no need to be defensive this time. And I never said she was not in the same room as them.

Lol dude I am not being defensive! I’m sorry if you’re reading it that way, but trust me, it’s not like I thought you were being snarky or anything. This topic is hardly something for anyone to get worked up about :P I was just pointing out that she asked the question at a time when she didn’t need to be entertaining them. And I know you never said she wasn’t in the same room as them, I was drawing on my first comment to you when I said that. So please, chill a little!

maybe you’ve had too much coffee? tee hee :)

Yeah… I’m just going to back away slowly from this thread now…

Bathtime eats up at least a half hour (well, it will for the two year old) You could do that, or let them draw, or read books to them, stack blocks…

thanks but looks like im off for hide-and-go-seek!!!! Keep the ideas coming though.

In my experience, mundane items work best. Get a giant stack of plastic cups and ask them to build the tallest tower possible.

Coloring is good, but DANGEROUS. Walls get colored on. Tables get colored on. I’d recommend playdough instead.

okay bath time is over and weve colored and played hide and seek
