No. It is my life and I treasure each day of it and each special moment.
Today, while I was sitting next to a little lake waiting to be picked up, a stranger asked me to hold his disabled son’s hand while he parked the truck and trailer in a way it was off the road, and he could run in to get the little boy’s prescription. He told me the name of the child’s syndrome, but I don’t recall it.
I asked the little boy if he was OK with staying with me, and he smiled and nodded yes. I talked to him about the lake and said that I had seen a bird earlier and maybe we could see one. He shouted bird and pointed. I thought he was imagining it, but I looked and a water bird had popped up out in the middle of the lake. We laughed together.
His life was obviously very difficult, but he was filled with joy. his father obviously loved him very much. He touched me deeply. It was a very life-filled moment.
