I dont know about 10 million but this site lets you compute pi to one million digits. Just the million itself looks really big. I doubt if any site will have the value of pie to 10 billion places. Just pi to 5 million places is 568 pages long and its sold as a book

I too think that this is a silly and time-wasting ploy. Read Carl Sagan’s
Contact(novel)

He uses the idea of running π in order to see what’s embedded in it.

I don’t really have a good reason for this calculation but I know the world record on a home computer is 24 billion. Furthermore does anyone know if a relatively standard pc could calculate that much without crashing or something?

i would say NO—most of the calculations of PI are done in supercomputers in colleges ( the fastest one was done in japan as i recall). You can start off but i expect a regular computer to crash after a certain limit (maybe 50 million)

Any computer can calculate as many digits of π as you want, the only question is how long you leave the machine going.

Unless you’re an innovative mathematician with a bit of programming knowledge, or have access to stupid amounts of computation though, you won’t break any records.
