“Great Question” (0points)

I opened up the battery part of my bass because it was acting funny, so i thought I would change the batter, but it looks like the battery is attached to wire, and the wire was cut and taped back together or something… I’m not to on top of technology and I was just making sure this was some wack job or something bass companies do…
FYI its an Ibenez bass guitar.

I really don’t know. Did you buy this bass used?

roysters5's avatar

it was used- 3 years old when i got it, and ive had it for bout…5 years.

Somebody before you probably tried to do the same thing as you, and ended up backing out, and taping the wire because it was already cut. I would take it to a music store and get an estimate on a fix.

And maybe look into new basses.

if you open any guitar you are likely to see some tape, its to keep the wires bunched up so they do not touch any open connections and to stop the wire moving all this leads to bad noise .
your batter is connected to wire or else it would not work
