Yes! You never know who was handling them before you. With sheets, it is in part to get rid of the new sheet smell. With underpants and socks—I usually buy them loose so they’ve definitely been handled a bit before. Washing them is a huge must!
Actually washing sheets and any material that will come into direct contact with your skin is NOT needless. Aside of the fact that the cotton growing process requires pesticides there can be outside contaminants during transport.
Most always. I can’t think of a time I haven’t. I have sensitive skin, if someone on the sheets were to irritate me..then that’d be my dumb fault for not washing them.
I wash EVERYTHING new that comes into this house. From sheets, to all articles of clothing. Nothing gets worn until it’s been washed. Sheets? Lord, yes.
I find washing every thing that comes into my house is imperative. I even wash groceries, as much as possible. I am allergic to a lot of things, and have to wash the clothing and other items in my pure soap to avoid exposure.
