I was once a member of a community site which shall for the moment remain nameless. Another Q&A site called answerbank closed down and the influx of AB refugees congregated en masse on my community site. The ABers did not like how we did things, did not like being moderated, did not like that one member had a propensity for the “F” word, did not like that we had rules at all. I met a great many people on that website with whom I am still friends to this day. I spent many a happy hour whiling away the time as I read questions and answers from people who were like-minded but different, as I answered questions, and I formulated questions for others to reap the collective, so to speak. Within a year, most of the older members had left because the insanity became too much. Too many of the Y/N questions, with a few of the “why won’t my bf have sex with me?” queries and too few really meaningful exchanges. Within two years, nearly all activity stopped on the website. I believe it is still up but just barely.
To answer your question, yes, I have heard of wis.dm. I would only offer this tiny bit of advice if you have recently come from that site. Look around, find your place, and follow the rules. Don’t try to change Fluther into something you once had. Embrace it for what it is, and be glad for it. Allow the older members here to guide you. Don’t try to stir up sh*t. It will not be well received. Other than that, I say just enjoy yourself.
