I wish!! I really, really, really, really wish. But no. However, it appears as thought they like my boyfriend better. So I’m just going to drag him about whenever I’m outside.
Edited to add: I agree they are worse some places though. I was at a friend’s and slept with the door a tad open on accident. At home, I think I’d have been bitten, but there I woke up like a plague survivor.
@JellyB Yeah! I noticed that! You’re cheating AGAIN!!
In answer to your question, I can’t remember the last time I had a mosquitoe bite…we can be in the middle of a cloud, and they don’t seem to bother me…
@DutchCat You’re missing out. I make the best peanut butter cookies this side of the Mississippi. :)
To answer the question, I am one of the lucky ones that hardly ever gets bit. My daughter and oldest son always get bit though. The only time that I ever have a problem with them is when we vacation in northern Wisconsin. It is the state bird you know!
@jonsblond I know—my ex was from Minnesota and he said the mosquitoe was the state bird!
I don’t know what it is….I remember getting bit as a kid, but the reaction to it seemed to start fading as a young adult. And now the little kids will just get “eaten alive”—we’ll be in the same place, but I won’t breakout..
@JellyB – well thank you. I did get my new phone!, but I can’t set it up because mi hermano is not here to set it up on the account for me. So I’m just sitting here staring at it like “beautiful new phone—I wonder if you’re fun to talk on…”
I’ve never heard of becoming immune to them.
Mosquitos attack me wherever I go, I believe it is because of my blood type, and how sweet it is. I literally have bite marks all over me within seconds of leaving my home, during the warm days. My husband never gets bit!
@casheroo I agree—some people seem more prone to reacting to the bites, but to me it seems to have something to do with age, and possibly the immune system kicking in….I still got bit in my 20’s and 30’s, but not so much any more.
Keep in mind that there are several mosquito species in the US that bite, including the imported tiger mosquito. Some of them have more severe bites than others.
The one positive to my contracting hepatitis back in 1980 is that ever since mosquitos leave me alone. I suppose my blood doesn’t smell as tasty anymore.
