To start up a business in today’s market would require some basic research to find a need that isn’t being filled in your area, or a business that has more customers than it can handle.
Most business models suggest you will need at least two years start up money before you can expect to break even. You would need to take all the costs of doing business into consideration, and make sure you aren’t missing anything.
One thing that is sorely needed in our area is personal care assistant for the elderly. For me, the cost would have to include salary for the workers I would hire to do the acutal care, and I would provide the referrals, and office assistance.
I suspect that amount would be around $500,000, including salaries, taxes, and business expenses.
