Road trips are always fun.. my parents have the ole walkie talkies so we can chat between vehicles like a couple of rednecks .. it’s fun.. stop every now and then.. break out some snacks.. relax… then drive again.. get to our destination.. have a good time… then go home and have a good dinner.. good stuff

I particularly enjoy thrift shopping with my mum, she has a penchant for it. My father and I’s greatest bonding experience is probably going out drinking and watching a Sunday night baseball game; he’s a red sox fan.

She was always the strong silent parent, and I really enjoy cooking with her, since that’s one of the few passions we share.

@Milladyret You’re answer reminded me of a day when my mom taught me how to properly bake a good pie. It was awesome!

I like watching Jeopardy with my dad. Or pretty much any gameshow. But the ones where you need to know something are our favorites. We also like just talking about random crap. We’re trivia junkies. :D

My mother… Eh. I don’t particularly like my mother. And she doesn’t particularly like me, either. But she does always ask my advice on colors and patterns and things like that when she does her artsy-fartsy craft stuff. I like that.

I love hanging out with my parents. I live right down the street from them, and visit them often lol.
We watch tv, or movies together. I used to go to the movies with my parents all the time i don’t get why people were embarassed by that, as teens, it was free movies and snacks! I love shopping with my mom, and talking with my dad about things he’s passionate about.
I hang out with them at least twice a week, whether it be playing outside with my son in their yard, or just having dinner with them. My husband likes to go over and cook them dinner at least once a month.

We always enjoyed sitting around with other relatives and talking and making meals together. There wasn’t any need for any particular activity for us to enjoy being together.

I dislike doing things with my parents, especially living with them.

I like swapping books with both of them, but discussing the books more with mom. We also email a lot, and both my mom and dad send me great articles, puzzles and what not – as they know me and my tastes very well.

EVen though we’re very different, I used to play backgammon with my dad as a kid. He likes nature and plants and stuff, which I always found extremely boring, though I do help him sometimes. And he feels very proud if I ever have a language question for him (he’s an english teacher and translator). He does all sorts of research and always comes up with a detailed answer.

I used to love going camping, hiking, and canoeing with my dad. My mom never really enjoyed doing anything with us.

Great question. I used to love to talk about birds with my mother and watch them at her birdfeeder, or go on walks around her neighborhood and look at the flowers and the plants. I also enjoyed asking her cooking questions. My most recenet memories of time spent with my dad are when he was in the nursing home before he died. When I visited him, I really enjoyed sitting with him and holding his hand; his grip was still so firm and supportive. When I as a child on the farm with them, I would love going out to check on the new baby chicks with my Dad and holding his hand in the dark of the evening.

It doesn’t happen very often, since we live so far away.

I like discussing politics with my dad. My political views are rather liberal, and he’s one of the few cogent conservative people that I know in my daily life.
