We start by overloading the kids on Easter candy before breakfast. Then we eat something completely unhealthy, like lots of bacon and a french toast casserole. Dress the kids up in outfits they’ll hate us for when they’re teens, throw them into the car, and endure a two hour drive to my brother-in-law’s father’s house. Once we’re there, we’ll eat too much and follow the kids around to make sure they don’t break anything. I’ll unveil the honey ricotta cheesecake I’m making for dessert, then sit back and bask in the glow of compliments on my dessert skills. :) After a while, we’ll change the kids into play clothes and (if the weather is nice) have an Easter egg hunt in the woods. The guys end up playing football with the kids, and eventually we drive back home. The youngest of our kids will fall asleep in the car, so the drive will be quiet!
So, it’ll be a typical combination of stress, annoyance, fun, great food, and happiness.
