Drinking lots of fresh cranberry juice is defo the way to go, but sounds like you havealready gone down that route, I heard that live yoghurt is good for some infections. Hope you feel better soon.

If you ever have blood in your urine you need to see a doctor.
I would go to the ER if my regular doctor told me to wait another week.

[Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional, just an experienced patient.]

A sulfa drug is usually prescribed for cystitis, at least in my experience. With that you do have to drink a lot of water. That’s the only thing I’ve known to work.

For a mild case, what you’ve been doing should work, but for a severe case like you have now, I think you need meds. You basically can’t go anywhere or do anything while it’s like that. You may as well put your blanket and pillow in the bathroom and forget about the rest of your life.

If you have a lot of recurrences of cystitis, shouldn’t some doctor be sending you for a kidney test?

Yes, blood in urine is definetly not good and should be looked at immediatedly. For general urinary tract infections (UTI) cranberry is good especially unsweetened. Also make a tea from juniper berries -simmer lightly in a stainless steel pot with lid. Also take herb Uva Ursi too.
Hot baths as hot as you can stand it. Heating pad on your kidney. Lots of water and rest.

And ladies, always remember to pee after sex to reduce the risk of UTI.
