I regularly realize that and it’s actually the best thing I can do to help myself calm down. It’s more a “this is hard, but your life nor the world are ending, look at the big picture” feeling.

I was having a rough day at work today. Then I realized that one of our field offices tomorrow is having a day of remembrance for an event that happened last year where one employee came in to work and shot another employee dead.
I think you may be wrong. Every action causes branching in the threads of time. Sometimes they split and form new threads that play out their own existance in parallel. Sometimes the move faster or slower than the one we ride. Sometimes they meet up again in the future. Our actions are compounded by others who observe them. Based on Jung’s theory of synchronicity and Einstein’s concept of simultaneity I would have to say there is no such thing as an insignificant action.
Yup. I love it. I also love considering the sheer improbability of my existence, and when I am astounded at how unlikely I actually am to exist yet I do exist, it counters the feelings of helplessness for me (why be helpless when you technically shouldn’t exist?).
I tend to think of this sometimes, when im driving around the city i live in. Its just 1 little speck in a huge state, part of a huge continent, part of the world, part of the universe. Just 1 little speck.
