Insects don’t bother me at all. If I know they can’t sting or bite, I’ll pick them up. Worms, snakes, frogs—anything. Searching for interesting critters is how my kids and I spend most of our time outside.
Spiders though…ugh. I get nauseus around spiders. They are horrible. I know they’re pretty much harmless, but they bother me so much I can’t even squash them—unless they’re tiny. If it’s a really small spider I can calmly walk away or even whack it with my shoe. Otherwise, I get my husband or my fearless 5 year old to deal with it for me.
@spendiff I woke up in the middle of the night once because of a strange noise in my ear. Couldn’t feel anything, but I kept hearing this noise, kind of like having water in your ear after you go swimming. I got up, found a Q-tip in the bathroom, and dug around for a bit because I couldn’t think of anything else to do. When I looked at the Q-tip, there was an ant on it. It must have been walking around on my eardrum.
