I’ve noticed one other person said this, and it may sound crazy, but a serious workout can be incredible for the spirits. I’m on a crew (rowing) team, and any time I have a practice or workout that I’ve gone into feeling terrible on an emotional level, I’ve come out feeling great.
When that’s not an option I tend to go for socializing and getting physical affection (hugs and the alike, I’m a very physical person). Among other solutions, that don’t always work for me, and have been mentioned: happy music and comfort food.
