@spresto—you’re right. However, if someone keeps on making assertion after assertion with absolutely no evidence to back those assertions up, then they really aren’t a serious person. That means they are just trying to rile others up. Now, to some extent, I hold people responsible for letting themselves be riled up. I’ve experienced this over and over with Crusader, so I know that he’ll say anything to make a point, but it’s just because he has a particular point of view and has no interest in letting the facts get in the way of his opinions.
If I fall into his trap, I have only myself to blame. I might let myself give one or two answers, but then I walk away. I know he isn’t listening, so what’s the point of talking? That’s troll-like behavior. However, I don’t believe he should have his posts deleted or be banned from the site. I think that anyone can “vote with their feet” if they want to. It is not necessary to have the last word.
As an individual, I get to judge for myself. Not for anyone else. Mods can judge for the entire site. I think if enough individuals make the same judgment, the person being judged will get a message. They may not react to it, but they will get it.
