What is a best view of anything, that seems so normal, but when you take a picture or video of it, its more interesting than when you see it normally?

something that seems so normal that we don’t take a second look of it. but when you do, you go “oh i didn’t know that?” for example, like how bowling pins are rearrange by machines, or a shot of piano’s insides. i’m asking, either for a good video or a good camera shot or a good art work.

The stitching on clothes or the pattern of how buttons are sewn onto garments.
Wood – weathered or not.

I think anything with texture looks really cool as a macro shot.

My friend’s early 18th century house photo in the monthly Real Estate Guide looks about 300k more than it does if I am standing in front of it.

@gailcalled – Hahahahaha! There’s a early 19th century townhouse not too far from where I live that originally was going for US$20m on the market, mainly because it was an incredibly well-preserved building that was also an internet-wired house from top to bottom. All the original mouldings and what have you were removed, the house set up with state-of-the-art mod cons, plumbing and electrical re-wiring on every floor, and then everything was put back to its original construction. In the photos, it looks so stately. When you see it in person, it’s a run of the mill Brooklyn townhouse. I think it’s down to US$11m now.

I’ve taken photos of Slinkys (that I’ve since lost) and the spirals made for a great look.

@aprilsimnel: 11 million dollars for a run-of-the-mill Brooklyn town house, even with the original moldings and state-of-the-art mod cons? I could purchase my entire county for that.

A good macro shot of flowers, insects, or spiders. The detail is amazing. I took a close up of a wood spider the other day, and being able to see every hair on all eight of its legs was amazing.
