Well, I think it’s a toss up between Ahmadinejad and the Ayatollah Khamenei.
Since the real leaders of the government haven’t backed the current President it remains unclear whether the resulting leadership will be bad or worse.
I’d like to think that Ahmadinejad’s election in 2005 was just a reaction to Bush’s policies and that he will be gotten rid of now that there is a more moderate President on the US side.
Unfortunately, so much talk of war and military strikes only serves to strengthen his position, not that the Ayatollah would be much better.
I guess that just the idea that they are holding elections is a sign of hope for the country and its people.
