Also, I really enjoyed playing the MGM Grand. The poker room is a casino centerpiece, the limits are low, and it’s mostly tourists, so it’s interesting people and softer competition. I think the buy in is higher than what you are looking for.
The other place I’ve played is the Orleans which is off the strip (just west of the interstate along Tropicana. The one tourney I played was a $55 buy in. It was my first tourney and I finished something like 22 out of 66 or so. The Orleans poker room is a favorite of the locals, and they just finished a remodel, but it’s still nothing like the MGM.
