@oratio In the early summer of 1977, I stood in line for tickets for Elvis for a friend’s mother. Stood for hours, got the tickets. He died 2 weeks before coming here to perform. She kept the tickets. I never really liked him myself.

Nah, I’d go for someone like Joan Baez, or that whole era and style. Especially live. Beatles you can still get on CD/old videos etc. I don’t think I would have been that impressed.

@chyna. He’s passed through here in Phoenix a few times over the years but I’ve never been able to make it to one of his shows. I’m going to make a more concerted effort to do so in the future if he comes by again. Friends who have seen him in concert have all said, like you did, that it was great performance.

I even got to go to some of Leonard Bernstein’s children’s concerts as well as many, many other groups from all genres of music. Just about all of them were wonderful experiences, except for The Judds, who refused to come out of their bus for 2 hours because they didn’t like the way the venue was set up.

But I never got to see the Beatles live. However, I understand it would have been actually impossible to hear anything. Even they couldn’t hear anything above the screaming.
