I do have a Burton board, but I am not 100% sold on the Burton product. I am not saying Burton is a slouch product, because they are not, it’s just there are other new brands that put together a nice board as well and may have design patterns that are sweeter.

There is no harm at looking at the Burton flagship store especially if you are a new border, they would probably fit you better for a board. Most local ski shops are still more geared to selling ski equipment and are selling boards because of money.

I’ve been to the Burton Store in Chicago (where I live) and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. And I would think they would be able to do a good job of fitting you for their snowboards.

I would also recommend that you go to a snowboard shop that only sells snowboards, where they would carry multiple brands and be very knowledgeable about fitting you on variety of different boards that match your budget and riding ability. I have found in my experience that going to a store that specializes in one product will offer you the best choices and most knowledgeable staff. People who actually ride and know their stuff and what works.

I ended going to the Burton store, spending 3 hours in there and getting a sick setup. I was definitely upsold, but hey, the guy seemed to have my best interests in mind.

well as long as you are happy with the setup and you have a great ride…then it will all be worth it.. Have a sick time!
