Does anyone have any experience with scottrade or sharebuilder? Say you had $1500 to start investing with, which site would you chose and why. Would sharebuilder be better if you only had $200—$500 or should you wait til you had the $500 min to open a scottrade account? Thanks

Personally I think I would go with Scottrade. Though if your disciplined challenged Sharebuilder may be the right choice. I’m more familiar with Scottrade, though I use Ameritrade, not by choice they acquired Datek. Datek has local offices and friends I’ve recommended to them, with accounts now ranging for 1 month old to 6 years old, are happy with them. With Share builder looks like you’ll be spending from 48 – 156 a year on there automatic plan and if your making regular trades than Scottrade would be cheaper.

We use E*Trade, but most of the reputable online services are pretty much the same.
