“Great Question” (0points)

My aunt described a book about a family who has money but chooses to live in poverty. They lived in a junk yard and have four children. When the children got older three out of the four children were about to overcome living in poverty.

Does anyone know the name of this book?
I think it was called something along the lines of “class ceiling”

I tried looking for this, but there isn’t enough information to go on. Can you bracket a time period when it might have been published? Where was it set—what country, what city? Was it meant for an audience of adults, young adults, or children? Can your aunt supply any further details or remember anything about the author’s name?

The common phrase is “the glass ceiling.” I was unable to find a book with that title that fit this description. Books with that phrase in the title tend to be about succeeding in business. I couldn’t locate anything promising without more to go on. We don’t even know for sure if this book is fiction or nonfiction.

Because puns and plays on words are so common in our culture, someone might indeed have written a book called “the class ceiling.” I tried that too, without success.

The book is The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. It’s one of my favorite memoirs that I’ve ever read.
