I’m looking to get a liquor and beer sponsorship for a launch party in New York. Anybody know who to talk to?

Find out who the New York sales reps are of the companies you’re interested in contacting. That’s just a simple call to the company’s sales department.

I think JudoChop may be in the liquor game, too. He’s worth PMing.

I don’t know about the laws in new York but I used to have a liquor license in California and it was against the law to give liquor away for promotional reasons.

They can probably give you shirts, hats, booths, and signs, but I doubt that they can or will give you liquor. Also, be aware that the state will probably require a liquor license before you can serve it.

I might add that there are no regulations on how much one charges for liquor. We used to offer ‘nickel beers’ on Friday nights. What customers spent on appetizers and other items typically made up the difference.
