We have a Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab Truck with the 8-foot bed. The gas mileage is terrible, but I can haul all five dogs, my husband and the kids in it and still have room for luggage. In seven years and 100,000 miles I have had very few problems with it. It starts reliably, the AC works, it has plenty of leg and head room, and my neighbors love me because I can go to the dump for them anytime (and the truck is high enough to get through the periodic floods in our neighborhood). The biggest problem is that it is hard to park it.
We also have a lime-green Volkswagen New Beetle, with a sunroof. It is desperately cute, drives like a nimble sports car, is surprisingly roomy for something so small, and has decent gas mileage. The biggest problem is that a lot of things are over-engineered yet fragile, so small things such as latches and switches tend to break frequently.
