You wait a certain amount of time in between frames, and you use a decent tripod so that the camera doesn’t change position. Also, it’s better to use a cable to fire the camera so that you don’t jolt it with your finger when you snap the shot.

You use a remote trigger that has the ability to automatically take a shot at a specified time interval. Some cameras have this feature built in, but not many. The triggers are available on eBay for a pretty low cost, usually under fifty dollars.

It is just a series of photos chained together. I did an eight month film that took about 38 seconds to run. I set up the tripod and a plunger on the camera and made foot outlines and a shadow back so we would have the model in the same position then took two frames a day till she delivered.

Once I strung them together it looked like she just stood there getting more and more pregnant. then we put about 5 seconds of “flat belly” at the end.
