I recently bought and installed a new Pioneer stereo for my wife’s 2003 Honda Civic. The stereo was ipod ready, so I assumed there would be a usb port to which I would plug in the usb to ipod adapter cable. However, the stereo had a cable with the male end of the ipod cable to plug the ipod into. I was hoping to be able to also play music from a flash drive. Is there such thing as an adapter to go from the male end of an ipod cable to a usb port? Thanks.

I don’t know that they make female iPod connectors…

I would venture a guess that your iPod-ready stereo is designed to read the ipod’s storage system (the on-device DB and all) and subsequently would be unable to read the flash drive even if you were able to find an adaptor for the car, which is unlikely as the overhead in making an adaptor would be hurrendous…

If I were you, I’d look into burning mp3 CDs, which can hold a lot of music per disk, and would likely be supported by any iPod ready stereo. Good luck!
