Lasagna. If only I had some now…

Edit: I would also like to add a side of beer.

A bbq pizza with bacon, onions, green peppers, pineapples, chicken, and cheddar cheese on top with a big chocolate milk shake.

applesaucemanny's avatar

Spaghetti with parmesan cheese, to drink, Dr. Pepper, and for dessert vanilla ice cream!

chyna's avatar

I’m with @jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities Lasagna is my favorite food of all time.

Sarcasm's avatar

@Sampson I think I saw something like that on This is why you’re fat.

Me? Some eggs(A bit scrambled), with some swiss cheese, ham and bacon mixed in, on a nice French roll, with a simple baked potato with just a little salt and butter, and a nice (very very very) tall glass of Grape Soda.

Sampson's avatar

@Sarcasm Cool story, bro.

photographcrash's avatar

teriyaki pork with sticky rice.. delicious! or, chicken breaded in panko and hot paprika, sauteed and served with pasta and aglio olio.

Tink's avatar

I like maccaroni and cheese with four different cheeses, and orange juice with crushed ice. Oh and a piece of chocolate cake with no icing.

dpworkin's avatar

This is a hard one, but I would say traditional Eastern-European Jewish festival meals – Matzoh ball soup, chicken liver, tons of good bread, brisket, kugels, latkes, all that.

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

@Sarcasm I feel fatter just by looking at that website.

We have a restaurant called mano’s, my favorite meal would be 4 chicken souvlaki skewers, with extra spice and lemon, along with blueberry frizzanty or a shirly temple with extra grenadine, and for desert a piece of oreo cheesecake, with chocolate and white whipped cream. Anyone here think this is good or what?

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

Homemade chili made with Omaha Steaks Private Reserve Top Sirloin, thrice boiled pinto beans, various spices, (some secret, some not), fresh garden tomatoes and onions, various hot peppers like red jalapenos, orange habaneros, and stoplight sweet peppers (red yellow green).

Best chili in the world, and comes in second best when made with freshly ground bison roast or venison steak.

And served with an ice cold glass of milk or lemonade.

A Chicago-style personal pan pizza (oil that crust, now!) with sausage, pepperoni, olives, peppers, mushrooms, spinach and extra cheese, a chocolate shake and a strawberry shortcake with extra whipped cream.

Why, yes, I am from Wisconsin.

No, I haven’t eaten anything close such a meal in my life! That’s a lot of food!

Tink's avatar

@Sarcasm I threw up alittle by looking at that.

lostinyoureyes's avatar

This lobster clubhouse I had at a higher end restaurant. Whole pieces of lobster, pesto mayo, caramelized onions, lettuce… on rye bread I believe…. so damn good.

And I love sushi.

trumi's avatar

Diet Coke and Jack, sourdough bread, caprese salad, raw west coast oysters, fried calamari, escargot, petite fillet mignon, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, cheddar jalapeno macaroni, and creme brulee.

But if I’m at home it’s grilled cheese all the way.

rooeytoo's avatar

@Sarcasm – I didn’t see anything on the first 2 pages that I would even consider eating!
Do you really like that stuff?

I love Fish with Lemon Grass and Chili from a Vietnamese restaurant, or Malaysian Chicken Rice. Actually just about any kind of Asian food is yummo (aussie talk)/

TORTAS DE CARNE ASADA: They’re kind of like Mexican steak sandwhiches or hoagies.

INGREDIENTS: skirt steak, refried beans, minced onion, diced tomato, shredded lettuce, chopped cilantro, sliced avacado, sour cream, shredded chiuaua cheese (or monterey jack), salsa (I like mines super hot), limes, salt, cumin, Bolio bread (or you can use sub sandwhich rolls)

PREPARATION: (1) Marinate skirt steak in lime juice, salt and cumin for about 10 mins. Grill or cook on a comal to desired doneness and give it a rough chop. (2) Cut open Bolio bread into 2 halves and toast in the oven or on the grill or comal. (3) Assemble sandwhich: (a) Slather refried beans on one side and sour cream on the other. (b) Put a layer of chopped skirt steak on the refried beans then layer with the rest of the toppings: salsa, cheese, avacado, cilantro, onion, tomato, lettuce. (c) put the sour cream half on top and enjoy!

@rooeytoo There are some things I look at there and think “I should make that”.
Granted, the VAST majority of it I think either “That looks like it tastes horrible” or “That looks like a heart attack”, but there are a few gems.
Mostly, I like the laughs I get looking at them. Like the Donut Ice Cream Sandwich, Cap’n Crunch Donut, and good God the Oreo Cupcake.

I could’ve sworn this site was recommended on here in some other thread the past day or 2. I had come across it long ago but forgot all about it until somewhere I saw a link to it today.

A burrito or tacos on a place with rice and beans. The tacos and burritos can vary in what they have inside them, but rice and beans are staple items for the burrito, and I prefer carne asada tacos with lettuce and pico de gallo. Mexican food is my favorite type of food and I love going to Mexican restaurants and ordering a plate of food like that. It’s always way too much food, though, and I’m always really full at the end. ^_^

As for making meals, I haven’t done a whole ton of cooking in my life, but my favorite thing that my parents make would have to be tamale pie. It’s a casserole with home-made chili on the bottom and home-made cornbread on top. I also love shepherd’s pie and chicken a la king on biscuits. These are all casserole-style things my parents make and they’re excellent.

This is one of my favorites and is the greatest salmon dish ive ever had.

YARNLADY's avatar

Sausage, german potato salad, sauerkraut, and spaetzle, with dark rye rolls.

evegrimm's avatar

Recently, I found this recipe for fish—it mixes lemon juice with pickle juice and butter, and is absofab!

It’s good with spinach—I like to cook it with roasted garlic, a little olive oil and salt.

Homemade guacamole sandwiches are good, too—if you need meat in them, barbecue chicken and smoked ham are both good.

Another thing I enjoy is homemade mashed potatoes and gravy—like from at Thanksgiving. I could live on that.

I think any meal could be followed by homemade cannolis and it would be considered “the best ever”.

My favorite meal of all time would have to be our Thanksgiving meal. Turkey, corn bread stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes with gravy, candied sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie.

sdeutsch's avatar

Eggplant parmesan with a side of slightly-lumpy mashed potatoes, smothered in a tasty, little-bit-spicy tomato sauce. Normally ice cream is my favorite dessert, but with this meal I think a gooey chocolate cake goes better – it sort of matches the robustness of the eggplant and tomato sauce. This is the meal my mom cooked for my birthday every year while I was growing up – best birthday dinner ever!

Quagmire's avatar

Hot dogs on a bun with onions. I have it every birthday.

Eggplant Parmesan for the last couple of years, tastes change over time.

kutelilkat's avatar

Cesar salad, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli, and cheesecake for dessert :)

I also love to make spaghetti because its so yummy and easy! I must have garlic bread and Parmesan cheese with it!

here is a soup recipe I love to make. it’s delicious, easy, cheap, healthy and last for days. My family gobbles it up!

(I’m kind of guessing on the amounts, just look up leek sausage soup online)

3 or 4 leeks (finely chopped)
2 to 4 small green onions (chopped)
2 large cans of tomatoes sauce
1 large can stewed tomatoes
1 large onion (chopped)
1 large cabbage (chopped up)
lots of garlic cloves (chopped)( I use like 8) (powered can be used)
2 large precooked sausage (sliced) (I get them at the 99 cent store! the kind with skin on)

Fill a LARGE pot about half way with water and or stock of your choice (I use all low sodium chicken broth and a few cups of water) (or you can use water with chicken stock cubes added to it!) Add all ingredients except meat and tomato sauces. Add some seasonings like pepper, onion, paprika, Italian seasoning etc to taste. (I don’t add salt) bring to a boil, then cook for maybe 30–40 min (with lid) on medium. or until it looks done. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer with lid on for maybe 1 hour.

I make rice on the side and add some to each bowl of soup.

You could add potatoes and carrots if u like :)

YUMMY !

My favorite would be my own chicken chili which took an award of “Judge’s Favorite” at a local chili cook-off. It contains in various amounts, one whole cooked chicken, picked & meat returned to the broth. Add in the following in any amounts: drained Great Northern beans, drained whole white hominy, sliced mushrooms with liquor, a few cans of chopped green chilies, salt, white pepper, hot sauce, and Worchestershire sauce. Simmer for a few hours and then add in white shoepeg corn. You can thicken the mix with either corn starch in cold water or some white flour. Once the chili thickens, serve it over white corn chips with some grated Monteray Jack w/ pepper cheese on top. This is always a hit at my parties.

VS's avatar

But if you don’t like chicken chili, try my soon-to-be-famous salmon patties.
I can salmon, drained, and bones picked out – save ¼ c. of the juice
add ½ c. all-purpose flour, 1 egg, and 1 tsp. dill weed
mix the reserved ¼ c. salmon juice with 1 tsp of baking powder. Stir quickly as this will froth up. Dump into the salmon/flour mix and once mixed, drop by spoonfuls into hot oil. Brown on both sides and serve with some Spanish rice.

ubersiren's avatar

Asian glazed salmon, mashed taters, asparagus. Some sort of delicious chocolate or red velvet cake for dessert. I’m easily pleased at any TGI Fridays or Ruby Tuesdays.

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

I might also have to add green chile to my list. Nothing beats green chile!

I went to a restaurant called Monsoon which served Indian dishes. Let me tell you it was the best meal I ever had and it was not even that expensive. To start off we had a tillapia appetizer, with a yummy onion bread bowl, and a awesome salmon main course which was absolutely delicious. Finally for dessert we had a type of donut in this warm ginger syrup. For a beverage we had chi tea, which was really good.(So we had two each….) And the final price $45 for two people to be absolutely stuffed with delicious Indian cuisine.

And now Im really hungry

sandystrachan's avatar

Blue as in it only touches the sides of a hot pan , just to seal the edges no cooking involved . Blue meat

spaghetti and meatballs barefoot contessa style! they are do die for and take time to make but are sooo worth it!, this with a side of green salad, wine, and chocolate cake for dessert!

and maybe some french fries!

I love barefoot contessa’s style of cooking. Her show is on here periodically and I always record it so that I can copy them later.

Dim Sum is pretty good, never thought I would like chicken feet so much.

El_Cadejo's avatar

dim sum shrimp dumplings are win.

Tink's avatar

I recently discovered my love of greenbeans.

rooeytoo's avatar

@Tink1113 – we used to go to a Singaporean restaurant near Sydney and they served Malaysian chicken rice with Sambal green beans, it was divine!!!

I did always wonder why they called themselves Singaporean because they served everything!!!

Tink's avatar

@rooeytoo I’ve never eaten anything Singaporean, but greenbeans are delicious :)

rooeytoo's avatar

@Tink1113 – from Darwin, the flight to Singapore is less expensive than to practically any destination within Australia.

It is a fantastic place, great food, very cosmopolitan and the markets are wonderful.

And it is safe to walk down the street alone any time of day or night because crime is not tolerated. You will be caned if you misbehave!

If you come to visit the skate parks of Darwin, you can hop on over!

Tink's avatar

@rooeytoo Thanks for the geography lesson! :)
You had me at skate parks.

Fried catfish, hush puppies, and green beans.

jonsblond's avatar

@Capt_Bloth That sounds so good to me right now. I love fried catfish.

sdeutsch's avatar

@Capt_Bloth Lurve for hush puppies! I haven’t had hush puppies in years… Yum!

Capt_Bloth's avatar

@jonsblond We had catfish and hushpuppies tonight, I think this is going to be a regular meal around here…

I’m thinking scallops, and/or shelled crab.

Cruiser's avatar

Any kind of room service with my mega-babe!! Woo Hoo that’s good eatin!!

bobbinsgalore's avatar

Zucchini pasta carbonara, with cheddar cheese. Yummm.

Aster's avatar

I think mine is lobster tail with a half cup of melted, hot butter for dipping, fresh blue crab legs and just picked corn on the cob.
Dessert would be 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream with HOT fudge sauce topped with 4” of whipped cream, chopped nuts and 2 cherries, washed down with a quart of whole milk from a local dairy. LOL ! Ever had milk from the cows down the road? Amazzzzzing.

Coloma's avatar

Oh, so hard to pick just one, but..I’d have to go with the Thanksgiving dinner myself.

My home made cranberry/apple compote and stuffing and gravey and Turkey, and, and, OMG..I might have to make a mini-T’sGiving dinner TONIGHT! lol
