How do you change a mac screen saver password?

I am having trouble changing the password after my screen saver goes on.

You have to change your password before the screen saver goes on. To change it open account preferences under your user name in the top right corner of the menu bar. To be able to wake up your puter without a password go to system preferences, security and uncheck the box that says require a password to wake up.
