It was seriously underwhelming. Today is not over yet, but yesterday, all the universities near Carnegie Mellon closed, as did numerous businesses. Our campus even had serious extra security, and half the buildings were closed because of their proximity to Phipps conservatory, but I didn’t see a single protester walk through campus, unless they were our own students. The only thing different about the day was that campus was oddly quiet and empty. Some projections were estimating 50K people would show up. Definitely missed the target…
I like to think that there really were 50K protesters, and that that Pittsburgh just devoured most of the out-of-towners. :D
