I remember going through growing pains. You really will outgrow them.

In the meantime this link might answer some of your questions.

When you are in pain, try ice, 20 minutes on 40 minutes off for up to 5 cycles. This will diminish any swelling that may be causing this pain. Try it and see if it works.

@anv_8 Mine used to be terrible, too. Warm baths can really help on bad days. @Dog‘s link has some great tips. Motrin helped me.

I’d recommend these for bad days and you can follow up with a heating pad at home.

You can ask your doctor if they get really bad, but he/she will most likely recommend heat therapy & an analgesic as @Dog & I have done. I would not recommend cold therapy for joint pain, ever.

@anv_8 I forgot to add, that sleep during growth spurts is extremely important, as is calcium & vitamin D.

Yes I had growing pains that were that painful. I had them in my calves and my knees. My knees especially during cold or season change. Rubbing them can help significantly and so can applying a heat pad. You’ll grow out of it but I had mine far into my teenage years. Sorry, they really really hurt.
