How do I make the Honey Mustard I buy in the store taste more like what I get in a restaurant?

“Great Question” (1points)

I’ve tried a few different honey mustards at the grocery store and they really don’t taste that much different from yellow mustard.

I’d buy a good quality mustard at the store, and then a great, fresh honey and mix them to taste. That way you can make it how you like it best!

I would suggest going to Williams Sonoma if you live nearby one. They sell Honey Mustard that is really good. I unfortunately don’t remember the brand name, but its from France I believe.

Also another place to try is Trader Joe’s. At least if you don’t like the one you buy from their you can return it for a refund.

Good Luck!

I second amurph’s suggestion. I buy a good mustard and fresh honey and mix them. That way you don’t have to have a bottle of honey mustard lying around (unless you really use that much honey mustard)

I also like to add a little mustard powder because I like honey-MUSTARD not HONEY-mustard

I’ve always felt that the so-called honey mustard you get in some restaurants actually has some fat in it such as mayonnaise, but they don’t tell you! I’m pretty sure if you mix Dijon mustard, a little honey, and a little mayonnaise (such as Hellmann’s) you will get something similar.
