A video out lead should have come with it – it did with all of my Macs. Depending on the inputs on your Plasma, you could use it as a simple monitor – mine can, but I don’t really bother with it, using a computer to play videos is too awkward when you have a perfectly good HD recorder/player with a USB2 port. On those rare occasions when I need to I will copy the video to a thumb drive and play it from there.

Can you go to the Apple menu and select “about this Mac” and post the response.

I think the connectors they use just changed. It is the difference between DisplayPort and Mini-VGA.

There’s also Apple Tv that does this wirelessly with some extra features but I don’t think you’ll want to pay 229$ for it. Check it out anyways.

You’ll need an adapter to go from your computer to a cable that will connect to your TV. If your TV has an HCMI port available, that’s the best choice. It might also have a VGA connection, or at least it should have S-Video or RCA. Your Macbook Pro has either a DVI (oldest), mini-DVI, or Display Port (newest). You should be able to get the adapter from the Apple store to connect between any of those configurations.

Look for the cables online. HDMI and other video cables are extremely overpriced at RadioShack and specialty stores.

Or, if you have an Xbox 360 you can stream videos to it with an application like Rivet or Connect360.
