What is this “cleaning” of which you speak? You don’t remove the Protective Coating, do you?

deni's avatar

Hahaha, I hate emptying the dishwasher. I don’t know why! It’s such a little quick task but it just bugs me for some reason.

Also, our 2 dogs excessive shedding makes vacuuming a real chore. It is gross.

gussnarp's avatar

I hate cleaning the toilet. But it’s not the inside, or the potential gross factor, it’s the hair and dust, especially on the outside, that just won’t quite all come off and gacks up the sponge.

christine215's avatar

I hate the fact that the house looks trashed within just a few days of my cleaning it because family members can’t seem to clean up after themselves!

dpworkin's avatar

Also, our 2 dogs excessive shedding We have two German Shepherds. I think the hall carpeting used to be maroonish.

jaketheripper's avatar

listening to the ethnic songs the foreigners sing as they work

gussnarp's avatar

@jaketheripper Had I been drinking anything when I read that, it would have squirted out of my nose all over the computer. Best laugh all week.

deni's avatar

@pdworkin LOL I have one german shepherd so I can only imagine what 2 would be like. Though I will say that in the summertime one of my hobbies does include sitting outside with him and pulling wads of fur out. Do you do that too? It amazes me how much of it just comes off without barely having to pull.

gussnarp's avatar

@deni You know you can knit a sweater with that?

dpworkin's avatar

that’s how we got the 2nd dog – we knit it from the fur of the 1st one. We use the Furminator!

StephK's avatar

The answer would have something to do with the pile of unfolded laundry sitting in my dryer.

Judi's avatar

Laundry, because that’s the one thing my housekeeper won’t do for me.

aphilotus's avatar

I hate washing my blankets and sheets- I really feel like I have to do them all at once, so it takes the whole day!

poofandmook's avatar

The bathroom induces my gag reflex, and that makes cleaning miserable on a whole new level.

ParaParaYukiko's avatar

It’s so funny how many people hate emptying the dishwasher. I’m quite the opposite: I like putting clean dishes away, but I hate putting nasty, dirty dishes in the washing machine. Especially when tomato sauce is involved (yeah, I don’t know).

Other than that…? I hate dealing with clutter. But at the same time I like a clean, organized space. It doesn’t work out too well for me… I just have too much stuff!

erichw1504's avatar

Cleaning the house.

CMaz's avatar

The time it takes to clean.

casheroo's avatar

I hate most things about cleaning, but I enjoy the end result too much.

Dirty dishes gross me out, taking the trash out makes me gag, I’m severely allergic to dust but we have multiple ceiling fans and I cannot stand dusty fans. I am okay with starting laundry, I just find folding it to be so tedious. Oh, and kitty litter! Cannot stand to do that chore!

trailsillustrated's avatar

it’s just stinkin boring, makes you feel like a serf, and just a pain in the arse

rangerr's avatar

I hate putting away laundry. I love washing it. But it always seems to just sit in the basket until I want to wear something.

DUST

Haleth's avatar

I hate putting away my clean laundry. I have too many clothes, so it takes ages, and whenever I’m in a hurry to get dressed I always rummage around and mess everything up. There are always tons of clothes all over my room.

rangerr's avatar

@Haleth That’s exactly my problem.

Ame_Evil's avatar

I hate taking out rubbish bins and cleaning the bathroom to the extent I let someone else do the former and I just throw bleach around everywhere on the latter.

aprilsimnel's avatar

I hate cleaning the bathroom, which has to be done every day with three people living in the flat. And I hate cleaning out the fridge, which has to happen every fortnight. I try to get one of the other roomies to do that.

ItalianPrincess1217's avatar

It’s so funny that I came across this post because I was just thinking how frustrating it was to clean the house everyday. My fiancĂ© works a lot so I’m the one who gets stuck cleaning. There are some days (like today) when I just don’t have the motivation. It’s so repetitive. As I’m cleaning my glass coffee tables and dining table with windex all I’m thinking is “I just did this very same thing less than 24 hrs ago and yet it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a week!” It’s all very exhausting.

Haleth's avatar

@ItalianPrincess1217 You clean your house every day? I clean maybe like once every two weeks at best. That’s a lot of cleaning.

ItalianPrincess1217's avatar

@Haleth Yep. Everyday. My fiancé comes home and quickly ruins all the hard work I just put in. Ugh. Drives me nuts.

hearkat's avatar

I hate sneezing… which is my reaction to the dust, as well as to most household cleaning products – including laundry products.

MissAnthrope's avatar

The thing I most dislike to do is to clean out the refrigerator. Cleaning the inside is also a pain in my ass. I’d rather do just about everything else than that.

augustlan's avatar

Everydamnthing. Ugh. In better economic times, my one big splurge was having Merry Maids come in every two weeks. Oh, how I miss them.

Clair's avatar

I actually don’t mind it that much. I LOVE the end result so much, having a place for everything and everything in it’s place. I’ll straighten all day and scrub the grimiest crap off anything but the thing I dislike most is probably folding laundry. It takes entirely too long and in a few hours, somehow, someone will come into your house and wear all your clothes and the basket will be full again. Damn them.

Webzilla's avatar

I hate putting clothes away!! I don’t mind washing them, I don’t mind drying them but when it comes to folding them and putting them away it drives me mad!

sarahny's avatar

cleaning the bathroom for sure!

JLeslie's avatar

I hate unloading the dishwasher, putting my clothes away and dealing with papers that are piling up. I guess I just hate to put things away. I don’t mind cleaning. I think of cleaning as sweeping, vaccuming, windexing, etc.

poofandmook's avatar

You know… I don’t have a problem with folding and putting laundry away anymore. I hate the washing, since I have to traipse up and down three flights of stairs to get to and from the washing machine.

Since I have a Maine Coon that sheds uncontrollably, I have a whole laundry process to avoid cat hair on the clean clothes. I bring the clothes upstairs, immediately out of the dryer so they don’t wrinkle, strip down to my underwear, fold them next to the closet, and put them away immediately. That way the hair that’s on what I was wearing doesn’t get on the clothes, and rogue hairs around the room don’t get on them either. And they’re not wrinkled. I do this once a week so generally I only have two loads of wash – light and dark. Not even an issue anymore.

gussnarp's avatar

@poofandmook I’ve given up on cat hair.

poofandmook's avatar

@gussnarp: my favorite color to wear is black, and my cats are orange. I throw 5 dryer sheets in with the dark load, I’m careful not to let them touch me coming out of the dryer, and then they’re put away immediately as I said above. If you can find a way to do it that way, I guarantee you, you’ll see a great decrease in hairy clothes. (At least, if you do what I do, and put on your daytime clothes just before you’re going to walk out the door so the cats don’t have time to brush against you or anything)

gussnarp's avatar

@poofandmook I have a white cat, an orange cat, a black cat, and a white dog. I also have a 3 year old. I have to get dressed to walk the dog, and there’s no time to be changing clothes afterwards. I’ve learned to live with it. I also keep a lint brush in my car.

irocktheworld's avatar

I hate taking out the trash.:(

Darwin's avatar

Wondering why the other people in the house can never put anything away, or take two steps to put something in the trash is my biggest activity. I am not fond of cleaning any longer because it does no good. I might spend a whole day cleaning, but then the kids come home from school and it is all completely undone.

I don’t mind cleaning the bathroom, but I always wonder why my son has to pee on the floor, and why my daughter can’t throw away empty shampoo bottles. I don’t mind doing the laundry but I hate to have to put everything away, especially when the kids bitch at me for putting their clothing on their drawers where they can’t see it. I don’t mind doing the dishes but I hate it when I have spent an hour doing the dishes, walk out of the kitchen for five minutes,. and then come back to find the sink full of dirty dishes again.

Feh. Personally, I think the cat hair and the dog hair hides the dust and so makes life simpler.

@irocktheworld I have like… a phobia of trash. lol. i’m scared of the smell. HAHA

Clair's avatar

I hate most when everything is going perfectly smooth and you’ve cleaned and ran errands that you’ve been putting off for weeks, then you decide to make your sweet dog some treats and there are weevils in the them….(TWO batches of treats that take forever to make….this turned into an FML….breathe…)

christine215's avatar

@Darwin… I’m sorry, did my kids move in with you? tell them to get their arses home right now!

Darwin's avatar

@christine215 – No, but mine may be the missing twins of yours, separated at birth. Would you like to reclaim them?

jfos's avatar

@christine215 I’ll take them. Do they enjoy cleaning?

Darwin's avatar

Shirley, you jest! Our children enjoy uncleaning.

poofandmook's avatar

do you unclean on your unbirthday? O.o

jfos's avatar

@Darwin I jest, I jest. And stop calling me Shirley!

christine215's avatar

@Darwin, I wonder if we’re related? somehow there may be a gene that inhibits our offspring from cleaning up after themselves? Or maybe we live in parallel universes and you’re me, just over there somewhere, with streaky mirror images of our kids… do you think there could be a bizarro world version of us, with kids that LIKE To clean?

Darwin's avatar

@hearkat—Wanna trade? I’ll give you two-for-one.

hearkat's avatar

@Darwin: He’s 18 now, so I’ve passed the trade deadline – sorry.

I think I would have to say….dusting. With all of the things in the air flying around and the hair and the dust balls and then cleaning the sponge, or rag, or whatever. It all clumps together to the moist rag, because if its not moist then it just flies around and what not. Anyone understanding me here??
