What is a good approximation for the resolution of the human eye in standard megapixels?
People have estimated around 500–600 megapixels but this is a funny way of talking about our amazing, amazing eyeballs.
More interestingly, our eyes adjust to differences in light and light temperature better than any camera. Go rods and cones!
“Go rods and cones!” is beautifully geeky, and made me laugh. GA.
Great question by @clioi, and great answer by @nzigler! Welcome to Fluther, and Lurve to the both of you!

Great question and answer – I love learning new things
Love it!
There’s a pretty good page here: http://www.clarkvision.com/imagedetail/eye-resolution.html about not only the resolution, but dynamic range, sensitivity etc.
This page agrees with nzigler and says close to 600MP would be a good estimate.
thanks very much @nzigler and @WhatEvil ! and thanks everyone else for the welcome!
