@rguest That ReQall thing looks like the holy grail of software: the more information you throw at it, the more useful it becomes. (See also the Fever RSS Reader.) Most software hits an information overload at some point.
Regarding its use of Evernote, I’ve always loved the OCR it does, but I also struggled to find a really good use for it; ReQall strikes me as a wonderful use of the “solution in search of a problem” that Evernote has always been for me. I’ll give their free service a shot, and see if I truly miss the Google Maps integration (why not? The more information, the merrier.)
As for SimpleNote, I haven’t tried it, but it strikes me as the sort of task manager you’d use if you find all the features of Things, iGTD, Hit List, OmniEverything, ReQall and the like far too much for such a simple question as “what did I have to do today?” It seems like the digital equivalent of an index card and ballpoint pen, rather than the day planner and administrative assistant.
