Sooner or later they all do stuff to screw things up. I thinl Bof A has the most ATM’s but if my balance drops below $2000 they charge $10/mo
I ended up at Wells for my daughter once after my bank merged and then that bank merged and then Wells bought that bank. They charged a monthly fee if the balance dropped below $1000. We only paid 1 or 2 online checks/mo and they charged $4.95. Then one month they changed the cycle and ended up charging 2 service fees. Imagine, almost $20 in fees on an account with a balance of over $750 and only 1 small check written on the account. When I complained they offered to take off the 2nd service fee. BuhBye Wells.
I was happy with Wamu for 5 years. No ATM fees and CD interest was twice B of A. I’m suspicious about Chase and the ATM’s are only at branches which are fewer than B of A.
I heard 1st Republic is one of the few that didn’t get hurt in the mortgage mess and pays nice interest but not so many ATM’s.
