What attitude do you have towards perennial winners?
I find it very annoying that the Yankees, for example, have won 27 World Series titles in baseball. That’s 17 more than the next most winning team, the St. Louis Cardinals.
I guess, at least in America, we grow up with some kind of idea that fairness should be a right. Everyone should start from a level playing field. And yet, there are many situations where we do not start from a level playing ground, and the perennial winners—the ones going down hill…
How do you feel about them? Do you dislike them because they have a head start? Do you hate them because they always win, and no one else has a chance? Do their victories somehow seem tainted by money? Or is it fair, as far as you’re concerned? That’s the nature of humanity. Some people just have advantages.
Is there a perennial winner you love to hate? Is there some team or organization whose victories just seem to stick in your craw? Who or what are they? Do you feel they are cheating, somehow, because they win so much? Is it sour grapes? Or is it fine by you?
