Hmm. I’m always wary of such fantastic claims. Especially anything that claims to be based on (new) science. You might consider investigating Reiki, which is a better established practice. I tend to ignore quantum healing and other emotional freedom nonsense.
Generally, Reiki (or techniques that offer similar or more broad advantages) by any other name is a money-making scheme. You’re right to consider it far-fetched. In the most extreme cases, it can heal something very serious, but for the most part, it just promotes general well-being. It is no substitute for medical attention regarding something live-threatening, but it can be provide pain-relief and emotional balance.
That being said, I suppose this EFT could work. Sometimes it’s more about the mindset of the individual than the actual activity. I consider it related to the Placebo effect. After all, there are still cases of seemingly-impossible medical treatment that continue to astound us.
<edit> I completely agree with @RealEyesRealizeRealLies.
As I said in another question:
[The Artist’s Way] has a fantastic work-book sort of layout. Although it was published in 1992, it remains so popular that I see copies in every major bookseller I visit.
The course Implements a lot of common-sense techniques, such as daily journaling/brain-dumping, but also has some really valuable insights and addresses individual aspects of one’s self over an appropriate time period.
Although on the surface it seems geared towards unleashing artistic ability, that really expresses itself in everyone, just differently. That doesn’t mean you’ll instantly become a fantastic painter, but that you will be better balanced and approach your area of expertise with renewed creativity and energy.
