I think Macy’s was where I got my coolest bedspread.

Its all kinds of colors in hot pink and lime, orange, turquoise, purple, light pink… Its colored in stripes and a satiny crocodile-like texture. AWESOME!

Before I can give you any ideas you have to fill in some missing blanks. What is your style? Bold? Colorful but simple? Favorite colors?

I found my very cool blanket that I use as a throw for the end of my bed at a bargain store (I want to say it was TJmax). Those types of stores always have some kind of unique bedding that you won’t normally see in other stores. And it’s discounted! Here is a pic of my blue, shiny throw

I really like Crate and Barrel’s bedding, but instead of looking for one awesome duvet, you could make your bed really cool by buying stuff in awesome colors and mixing it up. Right now I have cobalt blue and orange- striped blanket with blue sheets and a mix of orange and blue pillows. This also matches a lot of the art on my walls. I wanted to do lime green and magenta, but can’t find it… If you have some really cool items in your room, try to use them as inspiration for your bedding. If you can afford it, patchwork quilts from craft shows can be awesome awesome awesome. The style and color is all up to the artist, and some of them are amazingly creative.

@ItalianPrincess1217 : I don’t really know if I can define my style – I like eclectic, things you don’t see everyday. As for colors, crimson is my favorite, but I don’t know if I would want my room to be designed around it. My current room is off white with oranges, greens, browns, blues, yellows… mostly earthy colors, but I am down for anything this time around.

I guess when I see the right blanket, I’ll know it… I just wanted some places to look. I don’t know what I am taking from my current room so I have no inspiration, but looking elsewhere may be key.

Why don’t you try making your own? Just pick out a couple of different fabrics that are in colors you like and are complimentary. Maybe get a yard of each and then stitch them together and hem the edges. I love that eclectic look and I love patterns of different scales mixed together, especially if the rest of your room is bland. Then a couple of throw pillows in a color that will pick up the colors in the spread.

Obviously, you need a binary or a pi by numbers blanket from ThinkGeek. Obviously.

Etsy has lots of bedding/throws, including this one but you might have to rinse your eyes with bleach after seeing some of the “craft” that’s in the blanket category. Tread lightly.

Hot Topic has both Twilight and NBC blankets; here’s an example of the latter: blanket. I own one of these from a few years back, and I can tell you that it is the softest thing I have ever felt. Like a soft cat, but better.

Pier 1 and/or Cost Plus might have something for you; Cost Plus has throws like this and this.

I hope I’ve given you some ideas to start from.

@rooeytoo I was just thinking about that. If I can’t find the right item, and I can find a design that I like then I pick out a fabric that I like then get busy.

You know that stack of oversize t-shirts you have that you’ll never wear but all have sentimental value? It’s time to get out the sewing machine and turn them into a blanket. You have a cool bedspread, and you get to use your sentimental t-shirts. Voila!
