Does anyone know about cancer treatment in Germany?

My father just got diagnosed with anaplastic carcinoma of the thyroid. It’s a very aggressive, almost always fatal form of thyroid cancer. Most patients prognosis is 2–6 months from diagnosis. He currently is receiving radiation and chemotherapy, but is looking into alternative treatments.

To an extent he feels that he is being poisoned with something that doesn’t have a good track record with treating this form of cancer. At a recent benefit held in his honor, enough money was raised so that alternative treatments could be considered. He is looking at a treatment in Germany that raises the body temperature in an attempt to make the body unlivable for the cancer cells.

I’m scared because the treatment is four weeks long and I don’t want to lose that time with my Dad if he doesn’t have a lot of time left. However, I understand and will respect whatever he wants to do with his time and the money raised. I want more than anything for him to win this battle and beat the cancer, and I don’t care if he has to go to the end of the earth to do that. Does any one have experience with this sort of cancer? This sort of treatment or any other alternative treatments?
