I tried 8 treatments as an initial sceptic. But I had no pain when the needles were inserted. If nothing else, it is an interesting intellectual experience. Why didn’‘t it hurt? Not a clue. However, if, like me, you make the mistake of moving or wriggling a little (only once, I might add), that does hurt. The needles certainly tap into one’s central nervous system. I found that I sobbed uncontrollably and had to have the Acupuncturist come in periodically and mop me up.
My sister, in the next room, went into some sort of trance-state each session. Go figure.
